How You Can Help

Make a difference in a shelter animal's life by becoming an Alliance Volunteer. Walk a dog, bond with a cat, serve as a lobby greeter, and help out at fundraisers and adoption events. Volunteers receive extensive training by the Alliance, the City of Albuquerque, and veteran volunteers. To learn how you can help, call (505) 344-7387.

The Alliance has launched a campaign to get the City to comply with its own HEART Ordinance. That law mandates a "Minimum Number of Kennel Worker Staff" to care for the 500 animals that are in the shelter every day. There should be 60 kennel workers (30 per location to staff it 7 days per week). Today, there are only 28 positions total. It's a crime—morally, as well as literally. Please email Mayor Berry and ask him to take responsibility for this dire state of affairs ( Our pets have no voice but yours!

Money Matters

The Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so all donations are fully tax-deductible. And because the Alliance is an all-volunteer organization, one hundred percent of your money goes towards helping a shelter animal in the form of a bed or toy, medical services, rehabilitation or training, and off-site adoptions.
