After six weeks in my new apartment I finally got around to trying to clean the kitchen floor. Down on my knees scrubbing for about three hours. It's a LOT better, there was an awful lot of removable dirt... but as the photo reveals, there is still a faint outline of her carpet.

We rented a floor sander from Home Depot. Best $30 we spent during this project. It cleaned the floor up nicely. Notice, it's not a belt sander. I wanted to be as gentle as possible.
