One of my pics is in the 2011 Fire Trucks in Action!
This photo ran around the world! Every major network bought it including 20/20 which bought world rights to the photos for a special story they did on it.
Time Magazine paid $2000 to have exclusive rights to this photo for one week...then they never even ran it! Down this page a bit you will see this same photo when the NY Times ran it.
Cover shot from 1991 a shooting outside the Lenox Street housing projects in Roxbury.
This day while I was waiting for my B&W film to be developed at the Herald one of the Photographers "Bill" decided
he would try to have me thrown out of the building because I was not in their union! This was one of many times we had problems...at least this time my
film wasn't thrown away. In any case management wanted to discipline him....but "Bill" offered me a tri-card and I told management I didn't
want to pursue the issue. Needless to say I never got a tri-card from him! I eventually got one as soon as I got hired at NECN and then Fox 25. The ironic thing is that
photographer is now a call firefighter...never forget where you come from!
At this fire I was a call firefighter with Carver Fire. I ran up shot three frames handed the camera to a cop and then went in third on that line on the far left.
We only lasted inside about a minute because the floor was gone and the fire had too much of a head start.
Three photo spread in the Boston Herald...the guys they were racing up Bowdoin St were none to happy about me taking pictures and decided to come after me.
It was a good night to have been riding with three long time friends who stepped right in!
Here is a two page spread of photos I had published in Fire Apparatus Journal Magazine.
I have some more stuff I will be adding here soon!
