What is a Pathfinder?

A pathfinder is a place for you to go to help you find resources on a particular topic.  The resources in a pathfinder have been put together by a teacher, a librarian, or someone interested in the topic.  They have pulled together a wide range of resources, ranging from websites to books and more, to help you find information easier.

Why Africa?

Have you ever wondered what it was like to live in ancient Africa, among the kings and pharoahs?  What about living in modern Africa dealing with its current issues?  This pathfinder will guide you in researching information from ancient to modern Africa.  Along the way, you will discover the answers to these questions and many more!

Purpose:

The purpose of this pathfinder is to provide you (junior high students) with a place to go to find as much information as you can about ancient and modern Africa.  While this site is not the only place to look, it is a good place to start.  You will find websites, databases, books, videos, and much more presented throughout this site to help you learn more about Africa.

Ancient or Modern Africa?  What's the difference?
