Volcano-morphological study of the Harrat Ash Shaam volcanic field (HASV):
HASV is one of the largest volcanic filed in the Arabian plate, extends over 50 000 km2 and contains hundreds of well- preserved monogenic volcanic cones.
The keynotes of this part of our study are:
- Identify those cones volcanic, calculate its morphological parameters (heights, slopes, surfaces, volumes...etc.) using Landsat Enhanced Thematic Mapper plus data (ETM+) images and digital elevations models within geographic information system platform (GIS).
- Determine the relations between the volcano-morphological parameters and the structure of the lithosphere (using geophysical database http://atlas.geo.cornell.edu/syria/welcome.html)
