About Corinna Snyder

My dissertation research investigated the imagery with which Lithuanians in Vilnius thought about buildings and bodies during the first years of independence from the Soviet Union, and based on that work I received my PhD in cultural anthropology from Columbia University in 1997. Since then I have researched the relationship between the practice and the performance of rural women's singing in south west Bulgaria, and am currently developing a site specific work that brings participants into contact with the ruts, relics and erosions created by centuries of working life in rural Macedonia.
