Attention all Parents and Students!
Get a smart start on the 2017-2018 school year!

WHAT:    "SMART START DAY"
WHERE:   Aliamanu Middle School Cafeteria
WHEN:    Wednesday July 19, 2017      8:00am-12:00pm
WHY:    To purchase school shirts,  take student ID pictures (must wear school shirt when taking ID pictures), pay for school dues and fees ($15), pay for school bus, and deposit lunch money. 
*All payments must be made in cash*


Uniform Policy and Additional Purchasing Information.

All students must wear the school uniform t-shirt every day. 

School Uniform T-shirt prices range from $8.00 to $12.50 (plus tax), depending on size and style. 
Please remember Aliamanu Middle is a CASH ONLY school.

Outerwear: (Jackets and Sweatshirts): Non-uniform jackets must have a front full length zipper or buttons and be worn open. Pullover sweaters and sweatshirts are not allowed.  Uniform shirts must be worn and fully visible under jackets.

Ways to purchase school uniforms: *All purchases at Aliamanu must be made with CASH only please.

1. At our Smart Start Day on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 8:00am - 12:00pm at our Cafeteria.
 
2. During the 7th grade orientation day on Monday, August 7 from 8:00am - 11:30am at school. Location TBA.

3. At school in the AMS Transition Center (2nd floor, above the Administration Office) from Mondays - Fridays, 7:30am - 8:00am and 10:00am - 11:00am. Prices range from $8.00 to $12.50 (plus tax), depending on size and style. Please remember Aliamanu Middle is a CASH ONLY school.

4. School shirts may also be purchased at our vendor store on:
Mondays - Fridays, 9:00am - 4:00pm; 
Saturday, 10:00am - 2:00pm

8TH GRADE UNIFORM DONATION PROGRAM

WHEN:  7:00am – 7:50am on THURSDAY, May 25, 2017 ONLY

WHERE: Room S2 at AMS

8th graders who donate at least one clean, wearable uniform shirt to AMS on THURSDAY, May 25, 2017 will receive a free dress bracelet.  Students must show their current AMS ID to receive the free dress bracelet.  They will be permitted to dress according to the Special Events Free Dress Code on THURSDAY, May 25, 2017 and FRIDAY, May 26, 2017, while they are wearing the free dress bracelet to identify themselves.  If a student, parent or teacher is not sure if the rules have been broken, the Principal or Vice Principal will have the final say.

 

The Special Events Free-Dress Dress Code is as follows:

a.  Aliamanu Middle School ID must be carried at all times.

b.  All tops shall not reveal any cleavage and must cover the midriff.  Sleeveless tops must have straps two (2) inches or wider and be

 tight fitting under the arms.  Spaghetti straps, backless or shoulder-less garments are not permitted.

c.  All clothing must be free of messages relating to drugs, gangs, sex or profanity.

d.  The length of the skirts or shorts shall reach the open fingertips when arm is extended at the student’s side.

e.  All skirt or dress slits must not be shorter than open fingertips when the arm is extended down the student’s side.

f.  No layering of shirts is allowed.

g.  Sagging/oversized pants are not allowed.  Pants must be secured at the waist (no under garments showing).

h.  Baseball caps, visors, stocking caps, or sweat band of any kind are not to be worn.

i. Jewelry representing drugs, gangs, inappropriate language, etc. is prohibited.

j.  Any gang related fashion is prohibited.

Drop items off at the library before/afterschool until 2:30, morning recess or lunch recess
Donate gently used items such as clothes, shoes, and other household items, along with new toiletries

PURPLE-UP! T-SHIRT DAY – April 21, 2017

Show your support of the Operation Purple Program by wearing a school appropriate purple t-shirt or dress on Friday, April 21, 2017.  Purple must be the primary color of the shirt or dress although other colors may also be part of the design on the shirt.  If a student, parent or teacher is not sure if the dress-code is being followed correctly, the Principal or Vice Principals will have the final say.   If you are not sure whether your choice of clothing meets the guidelines, please bring a spare uniform t-shirt.

Hey Students and Staff!

The PTSO will be selling popcorn and juice afterschool by the school bus pickup area on Wednesday, March 29. 
Stop on by to quench your thirst and snack on popcorn!  The cost for each item is $.50 (fifty cents)!
