A Message From the Principal:

We are the Aliamanu Middle School Panthers, and I welcome you to our school and community.

Here at Aliamanu Middle School our focus is to provide a safe and positive learning environment for every child.  It is our goal to lead our students to successfully transition to high school and beyond to college and career readiness.  To accomplish this, we are committed to developing engaging learning opportunities that support and enhance the whole child, giving our students educational opportunities to enhance their growth as a learner, and provide positive experiences that they will remember for a lifetime.

We encourage students and parents to be involved in school activities and partner with us as we move through the school year and towards these goals. We are excited for an amazing year of growth, positive experiences, and fun. I welcome you to Aliamanu Middle School.  Go Panthers!

Al Hetrick,
Proud Principal

Dear AMS Families,                                                                                                                                             February 2019
I’d like to take a moment to share something of which I’m exceptionally proud of this school year.
Our campus is beautiful! Have you had a chance to look around? Our mele’ mural is a bright, welcoming representation of the tradition and lore that surrounds Moanalua Valley, in which our school lies. Faculty, staff, students, and community members have painted messages of encouragement around our campus....words like, “DREAM BIG,” that inspire and empower our students to reach their potential and work hard to be their best. We even have a delightful fountain and flower garden to welcome visitors to our campus. On the surface, these may appear to be simply superficial improvements...but we have found they serve a far GREATER purpose.
These enhancements have had an underlying effect of creating happiness among our student population. Why does this matter, you may ask? Because happiness leads to success. Research has shown that happy people seek to undertake new goals that reinforce their happiness and other positive emotions. When middle school students feel happy, they tend to feel confident, optimistic, energetic, and most finally, goal-oriented. They come to school excited and ready to learn.
The success of your children is what Aliamanu Middle School is all about. It is important to every adult on our campus that our students feel welcomed and cared for so they will, in turn, feel motivated to do their best and succeed...because I KNOW they can. Al Hetrick,
Proud Principal
