  • Memorial Tribute to Jerry Everett
Statment from Orwell Panthers AC :-

I confirm that we are proiceeding with our Memorial Tribute to Jerry on Sunday 11th October 2009 at Northgate Stadium Ipswich.

We are holding an indoor sportshall competion for our young athletes between 11 and 3.15. AT the same time our elite athletes will be contesting a Pentathlon on the track outside.

At approximately 3.15pm it is proposed that the whole club together with visiting athletes will take to the track for a Memorial walk. I envisage that this will probably be over 4 laps of the track or for say 20 minutes depending on ability.

Last evening at a Suffolk County Committee Meeting the Race Walking Secretary, Ron Wallwark, suggested that he might contact some race walkers to invite them to "The Memorial Walk".
  • Colchester Harriers Website
The current system is running out of space, so a new one is being set up and tested out, which can be viewed here for the time being. If anyone has any question/suggestions, please email the webmaster. Once everything is ok, the www.colchesterharriers.co.uk link will automatically direct to the new site.
  • Ladies Essex league push 2009-10
This Cross country season Harriers will be attempting to win the Ladies Essex cross country league. As such a club effort is required with the ladies all giving their best regardless of ability, even if you don’t score in the team you will be helping to win points by beating runners from other clubs , So could as many ladies as possible turn out for each fixture commencing at One tree hill on Saturday 10TH October. The Essex 10 mile road running championship at Tiptree is the day after and we will still send a ladies team capable of winning this to the event.
Following our sensational best ever 7th position at the Southern 4 stage and the veterans finishing a superb 5th, the ladies will now travel to the National final at Birmingham on Sat 17th October ,again the next day  sees the Essex veterans road relays on the 18th plus commitments to the Abingdon marathon. Liz Cudmore is entering three ladies teams to contest the relays in the over 35 and over 45 categories.  So please turn out to bring county medals home.
The following four ladies are selected for the National road final at Birmingham.
Sarah Stradling, Charlotte Smith, Tracey Ranson, Stacey Wheat. Please advise early if unable to run.
For the National cross country relays at Mansfield on Sat 31st October the fastest 14 ladies have been entered with six to run. Again please advise me if you do not wish to be considered for this event.
Annette Oakman, Sarah Ivory, Jennie Roberts, Lyn Higgs, Tracey Ranson, Denise Morley, Stacey Wheat, Kate Sandercock, Charlotte Smith, Sarah Stradling, Debbie  Cattermole, Mel Moore, Fran Norris, Mellissa Dowell.
The 53-12 league kicks off on Sunday 15th November at Harwich with a run if you can priority.
Thank you, and good luck, David Wright 07717530774

stay on that list but will not be able to start their training until after their 10th birthday and availablity
of places within the older groups. As soon as places become available we will start to contact those
