I am an assistant professor in the finance department at the Scheller College of Business, Georgia Institute of Technology. I joined the group in July of 2012 after completing the Ph.D. program in finance from the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan.
My research interest mainly lies at the intersection between macroeconomics and finance. More specifically, I ask how the macroeconomy and government policy affect financial asset prices and drive the dynamics of returns. I answer these questions through the use of both theoretical models as well as empirical tests. Fiscal policy and monetary policy are two areas of macroeconomics where I have taken great interest in to understand their impact on the term structure of interest rates and associated bond risk premia. However, I am also interested in understanding how other aspects of the macroeconomy, such as unemployment and productivity, influence firms and their returns.
