Complete Streets and Pedestrian Safety Event

Monday, April 21, 2014, 6:15 to 7:30 PM
Lee Center,1108 Jefferson Street, Alexandria VA

  All are welcome to attend.

The Alexandria Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) will  host a presentation and discussion of the Complete Streets concept, pedestrian safety, and  the City's Complete Streets Program.  The Complete Streets concept is a approach to creating streets that are safe for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers that has been embraced by cities all over the USA. Complete Streets was created, in part, in response to safety concerns in cities, where the majority of people killed by cars are bystanders, rather than drivers or passengers.

Our guest speaker will be Hillary Poole, Alexandria's Complete Streets Coordinator. Ms. Poole is an expert on street design and Pedestrian Safety, with extensive experience.  BPAC invites members of the public to attend this open discussion and welcomes your inputs and questions. If you are interested in updates on this event, please send a note to
