Back and neck pain are seriously debilitating.  You don’t look unwell but you feel awful.  People around you can’t “see it” so you don’t get much sympathy.  They might even think you are making it up or you are deliberately malingering. You don’t really know why you have it.  You don’t really know how to recover.  Even the “experts” don’t seem to be too clued up and the world seems full of confusion, full of conflicting and often damaging advice.  Worse still you don’t know what to do to give yourself the best chance of not suffering from it again and again into the future.

The good news is it doesn't have to be that way!

What is offered to you in this book is a simple “self-help” guide to achieving a successful, long-term recovery from back pain.

It is based on personal experience of both suffering from and recovering from serious back pain.  This is backed up and informed by my experience and professional training and practice of the Alexander Technique as well as my more general experience of many years coaching and participating in outdoor sports which included first aid, mountain rescue and ski-patrol training.

Mike, smiling, said having recovered from a truly desperate bout of back pain: “Its easy really, all I had to do was lie down and have a bit of a think”.Not quite the whole story, but the before and after photos and accompanying MRI scans show the effectiveness of this simple approach to recovery from back and neck pain.
