The Role of Parents

Parents are children’s first and most enduring educators. When parents and practitioners work together in early years settings, the results have a positive impact on children’s learning and development.’

( Early Years Foundation Stage 2007)

We believe that a close partnership with parents is important throughout their child’s time at Alburgh with Denton Primary School. Staff are always available at the beginning and end of the day for informal conversations.

A weekly newsletter is sent home with information about what each class has been doing to inform parents about what the children have been learning, interesting events etc. We also have two parents’ evenings during the year, when you can discuss your child’s progress, or any other matters.

If you have any concerns, please don’t wait for parent’s evenings, talk with your child’s teacher or to Mrs Sonnex.

We are very grateful for help that parents can give in the classroom, and also for special occasions such as sports day and outings.
