Learning Behaviours

Learning Behaviours is now a firmly embedded aspect of our curriculum. The aim is simple: to enable our children to become better learners by giving them the 'skills of learning'. These are key qualities that can be applied to any subject or situation - indeed, they are essential life skills. If children know what they need to do in order to be better learners, they are able to take responsibility for their own learning and develop the attitudes that will stand them in good stead throughout their lives.

Together with the children we have identified our 'Top Ten Learning Behaviours'. The children discuss what these words mean, what they can do to demonstrate them and what each one looks like in action. They are then supported and encouraged to practice specific behaviours in lessons, and indeed, throughout all aspects of the school day.

Our aim is for our children to become responsible, independent, confident, aspirational, reflective learners who never give up!
