Alburgh with
Denton Primary School have a team of talented, dedicated and enthusiastic staff. On this page, the staff introduce themselves.

Mrs Sonnex, Headteacher

Hello I am Hayley and I joined the school in September 2010 as Oaks class teacher and SENCO. I studied at Cambridge University, graduated in 2000, and I have been teaching ever since. I enjoy going to the theatre and cinema, and I like to travel to different places. I have been fortunate enough to visit lots of exciting places and in 2002 I visited a childrens orphanage in Kenya I am really excited to be taking over as Headteacher this year. This is a fantastic school to be part of.

Mrs Byer, School Secretary/Finance Officer

My name is Kate and I work in the school office. I am mum to Sam and Grace who both attended this school. I started here in January 2010 as a Midday Supervisor and then moved into working in the office which I am really enjoying. My hobbies include waterskiing and tennis and I love to travel.

Mr O'Sullivan, Resident Caretaker

Hi, I’m Dermot, the Resident Caretaker/Cleaner at the school. I have been here for 10 years and my role is very varied from fixing the toilets to liaising with staff regarding school issues. I am also the Design & Technology Technician and Food technician at the local High School, Archbishop Sancroft. My interests include bike riding, walking, camping, and motor racing.

Mrs Fincham, Acorns Class Teacher

Hi my name is Tricia and I have been the Foundation Stage Leader since joining this school in January 2007. My favourite thing about our school is the fabulous grounds we are situated on, which have such great potential. When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my family of 4 grown up children, 3 grandchildren, 2 rescued Labradors, 1 cat, a Shetland pony, and my young horse.

Mrs Goodhew, Seedlings Class Teacher

Hi, my name is Leigh and I have been working here for 7 years. I moved to Norfolk from Kent and am loving it here. I have 2 children who keep me busy and I love going cycling and walking in the countryside. I also love reading but never seem to find the time.

Ms Strode, Saplings Class Teacher

Hi my name is Janet and I have been teaching at Alburgh with Denton for 10 years. It has been great to teach all the different ages and see the progress that is made as the children make their learning journey through our lovely school. A strange fact about me is that I studied Norwegian many years ago and spent a wonderful year living in Norway. Nowadays my latest hobby is climbing.

Miss Stribling, Breakfast Club Supervisor and Midday Supervisor

Hello my name is Sadie and I have been working at the school for 7 years and I went to this school as a child. I think the school is great and I enjoy working with all the staff and children.  My favourite thing about the school would have to be the way they help care for the environment and get the children involved by recycling, using a vegetable garden and having the pond for them to enjoy the wildlife.
