Alberni Wrestling Camps Press-Release

Next week the Alberni Valley Wrestling Club is hosting its annual Summer Wrestling Camps, and wrestlers from all over the province are travelling to Port Alberni to learn from some of the sport’s best. First off is the Kids Camp running from July 8th to 10th followed by the Elite Camp running from the 11th to the 14th.

The Kids Camp is completely free, for skill levels ranging from being a first introduction to wrestling to having wrestled for several years and is geared towards students in Grades 3 to 7. The camp runs from 10am-12pm July 8, 9, & 10 at ADSS. For many young wrestlers who competed in the Alberni Valley Elementary Wrestling League last fall, the Kids Camp is a great opportunity to hone their skills for the upcoming school year or for those brand new to the sport to give it a try. No pre-registration is needed simply show up to the camp with your parent or guardian and get ready to have some fun.

After the Kids Camp is the Elite Camp, which boasts an impressive line-up of clinicians this year. At the top of the list is hometown Olympian Travis Cross, and 2-time World Cup medallist Breanne Graham. Other top clinicians include 2x All-American Tyler Mclean, NJCWA All-American Phil Mclean, and 3x national champion Nolan Badovinac. With such a talented group of clinicians it’s no wonder that year after year the Alberni Summer Camp is the largest wrestling camp in the province. It is great to have partnerships with Service Canada, NETP, and SD70 to help making hosting these camps possible.

If you’re interested in learning more about the two Wrestling Camps, or would like to register for one of them, all the information is available at
