To warm up students, try to encourage idle banter between them or between you and several students. This helps them relax, readjust to English sounds, and build their confidence.
At the beginning, explain to the class what you are going to be teaching during that class; this will help students have a clearer idea of what they should expect to learn. It will also help them (and you) have a tangible idea of what they can accomplish.
