A wander through Cumbria's ancient landscape

IF you love Cumbria, love folklore, love history - and love real books you are in the right place. My partner, Lesley Park, and I research Cumbrian history and its 'unwritten' folklore and legend. The results of our researches are shared on this site and are included in our books - all handstitched. Topics range from boggles (ghosts) to fairies, and lonnings (green lanes) to the history of Whitehaven's street-lamps! These are books that contain much original information but are also beautiful to put on a bookshelf or present as a gift to a friend. You can buy books from these Cumbrian outlets: The Rum Story, Whitehaven; Lowes Court Gallery, Egremont, Bookends at Carlisle or Keswick, or The New Bookshop, Cockermouth (in fact, we'd prefer you to so  you can support our local shops!) or via our online shop.

The Corpse Roads of Cumbria.
A new book featuring walks through the county's ancient paths. The book is
available in black and white, or full colour. Corpse roads led from remote parishes to
the 'mother' church in the Middle Ages but many still survive today. The book also
looks at the funeral traditions and superstitions of Cumbria over the last few centuries.
