ASTI values recognition of students as an important part of supporting ongoing academic and personal success.  We are exploring additional means of recognition and will continue to add information here as they are introduced.  Currently students are recognized in a number of ways that include:
ESLR Awards:
Every two weeks teachers nominate 2-3 students for their excellence in a specific ESLR.  These students are recognized during the Wednesday announcements and by the indivdiual teacher.  The ELSRs are:
  • Effective Communicators
  • Critical Thinkers
  • Independent Learners
  • Healthy Decision Makers
  • Engaged Citizens
  • Quality Producers
Students of the Month:
Each month teachers nominate 3-4 students for their overall achievements and contributions to the ASTI community.  From these nominations, the staff select 2-4 finalists for Stuent of the Month awards.
Course Awards:
At the end of each semester, ASTI teachers nominate students from each course in three areas.  These areas are:
  • Overall Achievement
  • Effort/Improvement
  • Intellectual Curiosity

Students are recognized at an end-of-semester celebration.

Honor Roll:
  • Honors: Students who earn a 3.0 GPA or higher during a given semester.  (ASTI and COA courses included)
  • Highest Honors: Students who earn a 3.75 GPA or higher during a given semester.  (ASTI and COA courses included)
  • Phoenix Feather: Students who maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher.  (ASTI and COA courses included)
    • Awarded each fall following the conclusion of the previous academic year.
