The Akoma N'toaso (linked hearts) is a progressive dance ensemble dedicated to the preservation, interpretation and presentation of traditional and neo-traditional dance forms of Africa and Brazil, while creating new kinesthetic statements informed from these dance forms.  With a high energy and deeply spiritual message, Akoma Ntoaso seeks to inform as well as entertain its audiences.

Akoma Ntoaso is an Akan proverb that means “linked hearts.”  Akoma is heart and the heart signifies good will and peace.  Ntoaso signifies something that is linked and continuous.  Akoma Ntoaso as an Adinkra symbol, represents a united front forged after disagreement. It is “concerted action or effort” it is what we are all about: togetherness and agreement.
