David Cosgrave

After serving in the Military, David went first to Physical Therapy School (1990) and then to Acupuncture and Herbal School (1995). He then held teaching posts in both schools. In 1999 he received Certificates in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal from Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. During his first visit to China he also gained clinical experience in Hospital Departments of Acupuncture, Internal Medicine, Gynecology and Dermatology.

In 2008, he returned to China for continuing education. While in Guanzhou he enhanced his knowledge and skills in both Acupuncture and Twina. He also introduced to and experienced Bee Sting Therapy.

David is a health and fitness enthusiast. He was introduced to many sports while growing up and competed in rugby, and soccer. When he moved to Alaska he learned how to skate so that he could play Ice Hockey. He was a runner in College and competed in many of the Anchorage weekend races. Now he is a very keen golfer and keeps fit doing P90X.

He was thrilled and honored to be a member of the Irish Olympic Medical Team in 1996. He served as the Team Massage Therapist. While in Atlanta he received recognition from the International Olympic Committee for his contribution to the success of the Summer Games of the XXVI Olympiad. Also that year he served as the Sports Injury Therapist for the Irish Cycling Team at the World Indoor Track Cycling Championships , held in Manchester, England.

Before moving to Alaska, David operated Three Skin Clinics in Ireland. David went to China, London and Seattle to enhance his training in skin complaints. Chinese Herbs have a very good affect on conditions such as Acne, Eczema, Psoriasis , Rosacea and others. His early years in Alaska saw him treat hundreds of pre and post operative shoulder cases. He developed and taught DISC, a Shoulder Treatment Program.

In 2003, David opened Alaska Integrative Medicine. Also that year David served the Irish Mountain Running Team while they competed in the World Championships in Girdwood.

During the last 22 years, David has developed extensive experience and knowledge in Acupuncture, Herbs and Bodywork Therapies, including Reflexology and Massage Therapy. He blends his training from both Western and Eastern Traditions into a personal style that produces quick therapeutic results for his patients.
