Research in Animal Diversity, Morphology, Development and Evolution

I am a lecturer in Vertebrate anatomy and morphology and in Morphometry at Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade in the Department of Zoology. I am also affiliated with the Department of the Evolutionary Biology at the Institute of Biological Research “Siniša Stanković” Belgrade.

My main research interests are evolutionary morphology, animal diversity, evolution and development. I use morphometric methods and diverse data from embryos and hatchlings to mature individuals to explore morphological variation and to test functional and developmental constraints,  modularity and morphological integration. Most of my work has focused on amphibians and reptiles as model systems. My recent research is related to the  morphological variation during ontogeny  using European newts, genus Triturus as model system.
