Welcome to the homepage of Aisling (Ash) Tierney.
  • I'm an archaeology PhD candidate at the University of Bristol, England, UK. My research investigates the Hell-Fire Clubs of the eighteenth-century, both in the UK and Ireland.
  • My interests also extend into public and community archaeology. I work collaboratively with museums, schools, university students, researchers and the general public within many different projects (e.g. Berkeley Castle Project; Dig Hatteras excavations in North Carolina).
  • I also work within Education for Sustainable Development as a Research Associate. Many of my projects have applied teaching approaches that combine foci of both archaeology and sustainability.
  • Teaching is really important to me and I am undertaking the Higher Education Academy's Teaching Fellowship.
