Pool deck at Renaissance Hotel (our first accommodation in Manila). It's 3 stories up. I went down one day to read my novel by the pool & lasted less than 10 minutes before pollution from the cars driving by on the road below drove me inside. The big building behind the palm trees is the Greenbelt shopping mall. It has a number of beautiful restaurants so we were very well fed staying in this part of town!

Oh my eyes....look at the bling bling. :) Seriously though folks, it is a great hotel and highly recommended. I frankly feel more comfortable here compared to the Shangri-la.
