On the bus from San Ignacio to Belize City to catch our flight home. I loved the bus in Belize. The combination of being around Belizeans instead of tourists AND not paying tourist prices for a great service was wonderful. The cost of the bus and the ride with all the lovely Belizeans - possibly the nicest people on planet earth (if you're into that sorta thing) - costs 3.50US (7 or 8 Belizean) and the ride is fun. To take a Taxi or rent a car costs anywhere from $65-150 US for one person (obviously made cheaper with more people). I guess most Americans can afford the cost of a private car but the bus truly fast, fun and one of the most authentic experiences you can have in a country where tourism is one of the pillars of the economy.
Belize toilet. Ka plush right into the ocean. Seems a little strange.
