Our Bergorf Goodman Escapade
Our Bergorf Goodman Escapade
Oh, it was an eventful day at this store. We had never been here before and I always wondered what was all the hype about this store. I had heard it was really expensive and felt the need to find out what made this store so special. I wasn't sure if this was going to be the kind of store where you feel out of place, right when you walk in. The kind of place where you can feel the eyes of the sales people burning right through you as they think to themselves, "Does this lady look like she can afford these clothes?" But, luckily we entered and they were having a sale, so millions of people were there making us easily blend into the crowd. So, I felt more at ease. Plus, a lot of tourists probably roam the area and the sales people are probably used to it. I guess anyone who was anyone called anyone else to let them know that they should head over there fast. It was a frenzy and the people were everywhere grabbing anything they could find for a more, "affordable" price. I guess they learned best from the girls in "Confessions of a Shopaholic". Okay maybe they weren't that bad, but there was a crowd. We entered and we wandered through the many floors and sections of each floor. They seemed to sell almost any famous designer out there. So, if you are looking for something from those magazines which are usually unaffordable, you can find it here. There were some pretty designs and some other articles of clothing that I was not so sure were worth the price. But, it was fun looking and rummaging through some of the items that were so expensive I probably would never see anywhere else. I couldn't believe I touched some of the items that were listed in the thousands... They had all the famous designers like Armani, Versace, Carolina Herrera, Alexander McQueen, & Vera Wang to name a few. They also had a more Junior's like department which held other newer names like Rag & Bones, Miss Sixty, etc. that I have seen named in fashion magazines that I have read. So, it was kind of cool to actually see some of this stuff being sold in a store. One of the first places we ventured was the shoe section. Everyone was everywhere trying on their "Manolo Blancs" and such. A name I have only heard on the show Sex in the City, which I have only watched a couple days in my life. They were aaaiiight. Maybe they were soft and made of real leather, something you don't usually see in shoe stores anymore, which is a pity. But are they that great to cause such commotion in the fashion world? Some people think so... One of the highlights, came when we visited the shoe section. It happened to be that as we were looking through the sandals and dress shoes my sister said, "look in back of you." I quickly looked in back and then looked a bit more to the side and saw no one. I knew at this point it must be that my sister spotted someone famous. The smile on her face said it all to me. But, I kept looking around and saw no one. I shrugged and then decided to look back one more time. At that moment, I saw what had caught my sister's eye. I immediately got excited inside and turned back around and screamed in a very soft voice, "It's Jay Moore!" I didn't have the heart to shout it directly at him, ask for an autograph or stalk or anything. I did have to look back again and see who he was with. It turned out to be some lady with fake blond hair, big boobs and a lot of botox. The botox made the lady look lie she was a lot older than she was. I thought, "It figures, he is with this lady." Later as I searched it on the internet it turned out to be his wife! I guess she actually used to look pretty before the botox & the hair color change. Who knew botox could go so wrong! Too bad, because she is only 20 something and looked like she was 40 going on 50. There seemed to be a lot of botox & plastic surgery roaming around the store on our little escapade. Lots of older ladies who feel like it is something they must do, a sort of right of passage. Kind of sad, because that is probably what looks normal within the realm of people they hang out with. Before we left we decided to head to the bathrooms. Again, one of the highlights of our experience. They had a bunch of Laura Mercier hand gel and body butters. I had to try it. So, I did. They had various smells. I think I tried the Chocolate Truffle and Creme Brulee Souffle Body Creme. Mmmm did they smell good. I felt like eating it. And they almost got me, cause I wandered to see how much they cost afterwards. But, to my disappointed, the price was not listed on the box. I didn't want to ask anyone, so we left. It turned out one jar was around $55 dollars. :O Maybe one day I will splurge...

Is this considered as the most expensive gift I have ever received as of now? Yes, but I hope this is not the most expensive gift for the rest of my life. Haha :p But no matter how much the price is, a gift shouldn't be priced by its price, but the thought that counts
