This morning was the first of our daily 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM meetings this week. We started off by learning more background about air dispersion modeling and the equation used to estimate concentrations. It’s good to have some intuition on what affects concentrations, even if the derivation of the equation is way over my head. Afterwards, I did some searching around for what radionuclides your average terrorist might be able to get their hands on. I got kind of distracted, though, and ended up reading about Los Alamos and nuclear weapons. At least I learned something, so it wasn’t really a waste of time.
