Following the EU Referendum and the shock result to ‘Leave', I have had to rethink my future employment strategy since the majority of my work is for English clients who purchase second properties here in France.

Without these large renovation projects my business sadly would not survive on just the odd day here and there for my local and loyal customers. These larger projects are imperative to my ongoing self-employment but may well be affected by the referendum result, the recent downturn in the GBP/EUR exchange rate and general financial uncertainty in the coming months.

In short, regardless of my excellent reputation and the work we have put in to make the business a success in the last two years, ongoing projects could become very scarce indeed.

I have already witnessed a huge drop in work during July and August. I appreciate that these can generally be quieter months due to the holiday season, but having recently been approached by a large Digital Printing company here in France with the offer of full time employment in an industry in which I have previously worked, my wife and I have discussed this appointment at great length and have decided that it would be unwise to turn down such a secure position when my private enterprise faces such uncertainty in the coming months.
Naturally, I am very excited about my new challenge that will start on the 1st September, but this of course in turn means that I am sadly going to have to conclude my business as I cannot do both.

With immediate effect I will be suspending my activity with Aimez Votre Maison in order to concentrate on my impending appointment, and to enjoy some downtime with my family prior to this.

I would like to take this opportunity to offer a huge thank you to all of my customers who have made this enterprise possible during the last two years. I take enormous care and pride in my craftsmanship and have been absolutely delighted to work for each and everyone of you and witness first hand how pleased you all were with the results.

Thank you again and very best wishes to you all
Martin and Becky
