Welcome to all our fellow Red Raiders! We are the Texas Tech Chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). We are the only organization that provides a camaraderie between all chemical engineers here at TTU. Sunday February 19th was the EOC CANstruction Drive at the South Plains Mall, where participating student organizations build structures from cans raised throughout the previous weeks. AIChE's team of 4, lead by Jay Whitaker, proceeded to build a miniature model of the Empire State Building. This simple but sound design was topped off with handmade airplanes and a stuffed monkey bought from the Toys R Us across the street. Due to the team's preparation, adaptability, and get-it-done attitude, AIChE's structure turned out to be one of the most impressive creations.

Hey Everyone!

Due to several people submitting their membership applications more than once, after fixing the membership spreed sheet it affected the points page. Therefore the points page is not currently accurate for most people so do not be upset if your numbers are wrong. I will be working on it to fix the numbers so that everyone can see where they stand by the end of the week. If you have any questions about your points please email me at

First AIChE Meeting was a Success!!

posted Sep 8, 2011, 5:51 PM by Webmaster AIChE Texas Tech University   [ updated Sep 8, 2011, 7:06 PM ]

AIChE's first general meeting was a huge success!! There was a record number of people in attendance. Livermore 101 was completely packed and Jimmy Johns lived up to their reputation by expediting a rush order of sandwhiches.

Committees are a huge part of AIChE and if you didn't get a chance to come tonight and still want to participate on a committee then sign up on the committee sign up sheet under the committees tab. If you want to be considered for a chair or have any questions about the committee please email the officer in charge of that committee. Don't forget to come out to the AIChE booth tomorrow at the Engineering Kick off and earn a point!!
