It's been over year since AIAS Cal Poly began the Freedom By Design program, and finally we are proud to say we have completed our first project, an outdoor wheelchair-accessible ramp for our client, Shel. We'd like to thank all of those who have helped us with measures, charrettes, and work days, and hope that the program has even more success in the future!!! -AIAS Cal Poly Freedom By Design officers
This coming Monday, the 16th, we will be having our final meeting in F-stop once again at 6pm. We are very excited to have a small group of 5th year students talk about the application process/experience/wisdom of being a thesis student. We will also have food, so be there! Once again, you can purchase T-shirts, and pick up your Crit magazines.
Also, Freedom By Design has been working the past couple of weekends on a wheelchair accessible ramp. It has been a lot of fun, and we are proud to say we will try to finish it this coming saturday, the 21st. This means we need extra help! So, if you are interested, email email@example.com for more information. We will provide lunch and rides!
If you are a current first year, make sure to come down to the Berg Gallery on Wednesday the 26th, at 6pm, to hear second year professors present information about their studios. This will be really helpful for registration coming up!
Also, we would like to mention that Freedom By Design is getting started on an accessibility volunteer project, and is having a work day this Saturday, April 30th. Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in helping out!
I hope everyone had a good break and is ready for an exciting quarter with AIAS to round out the year. Our theme this quarter is "Go Do" encouraging members to get active and involved with the club. A couple of announcements:
I hope everyone found our IDP meeting helpful- our next meeting will be on the 18th learning about the progress of our Freedom by Design project.
