Percussion

Each percussionist should have the following materials.

For xylophone:

Malletech Becker Blues (BB34) or Innovative Percussion James Ross (IP902)

For marimba:

Innovative Percussion

Med Hard (IP300)

Medium (IP240)

For more serious percussionists

Vic Firth

Robert Van Sice

Medium (VIC-M114)

Medium Hard (VIC-115)

I suggest getting two pairs of either to work on four mallet literature

Timpani:

General

Innovative Concert Series

CT3 Medium General (INN-CT3)

Staccato

Innovative BT7 Ultra Staccato (INN-BT7)

For more serious percussionists, they should have General, Staccato, and legato mallets.

Snare:

General

Vic Firth SD1 sticks

A pitch pipe, F-F or C-C

A stick bag

Students who are serious about percussion should also consider picking up their own accessory instruments when it is financially feasible.
