I am an IT professional with over twelve years of IT and electronics experience. I currently work for the Physician Network of the Willis-Knighton Health System, Louisiana's largest hospital system. I have been with the health system almost eight years and recently accepted a new position on the EHR programming team as a Clinical Informatics Analyst. Previously, I had worked as a Technical Coordinator in the IT department.
I am also a member of the Louisiana Army National Guard where I serve as the NCOIC (Manager) of the Signal section (IT Department) for my Battalion. Over the past ten years I have served during several hurricane emergency responses and a one-year tour under Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan in 2011. I am very greatful to have served my country and look forward to ways I can further serve my community when my military service has concluded.
In 2010, I graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of General Studies. in 2012, upon returning from military service in Afghanistan, I enrolled in the Information Network Security Specialist program at Bossier Parish Community College, where I will be graduating in May, 2013. I have also been researching Master Degree programs and am preparing to enroll in the MBA - Information Assurance program at Louisiana Tech in the Fall of 2013.
I hold several up-to-date professional IT certifications including the CHFI, Security+, Network+ and A+. I am also working towards my CCNA.
As one might imagine, I spend a considerable amount of my free time studying but, what can I say, I enjoy learning and I am fascinated with Business and the Information Technology that drives it. When I am not learning and "doing" IT, I enjoy running, cycling and spending time with my family.
