The love of money is the root of all evil.
The love of money is the root of all evil.
We all like money but it definetly has an evil side. It can control, manipulate and ruin peoples lives and here is some things that get on my nerves about money: *I absolutely cannot stand any kind of artists who do what they do solely for money. It bugs the hell out of me. When I was doing invites for the snow storm project book a few months back I had at least two people tell me they don't submit their work for anything unless theres money involved. Which I can understand if you're this big name artist doing shows in New York but thats one out of 5,000 of us. If your heart isn't in what you do, no matter what it is, it will show. Thats actually what inspired the idea in my head to start money on fire lol (no I didnt actually burn a $100 bill). I've also heard people say well I'll quit my job cause I can make 400 bucks a wedding with no skills or interest in all the little parts of photography that make it what it is. That should make someone mad who invests alot of time, learning, MONEY and years into their craft. IT DRIVES ME NUTS. That shouldn't be what drives you. My parents always taught me growing up that money is far from the most important thing in the world and thats stayed with me.
No New Coal
No New Coal
30/365 Greenpeace did a demonstration in Martin place last week, where two activists climbed flagpoles and strung up a 'no new coal' banner. They are targeting ANZ, a bank that is continuing to fund large coal projects, despite claiming to be pursuing sustainability. A work colleague said something along the line of "fuckers, why do they single out coal?". I bit my tongue, but what I really wanted to say is "Hmmm, I don't know. Do you think it might be because coal is one of the most polluting fuel sources in the world and people feel like more money should be invested in renewable energy?". Of course, Australia is completely coal dependent, and without it the economy would pretty much grind to a halt. But I am 100% with Greenpeace; we need to pursue sustainable energy policy for our future.
