The Eightfold Path of Altered States: Friday, July 10 at 6:30

"Spirit-workers and magicians the world over, and all throughout time, have used a variety of methods to go into altered states. From there, they could access other worlds and touch divine forces. This class will give you a map of the eight roads to that unique place, covering methods of altered states used by all cultures, some more dangerous than others. From the Path of Rhythm to the Path of Sacred Plants to the Path of Meditation to the Ordeal Path, we'll explore them all. We will not, however, be using these methods in class; this is discussion only."This workshop is closely associated with Kaldera's book: Wightridden: Paths of Northern-Tradition Shamanism

"The Eightfold Path is a wheel of eight roads to opening the mind and soul, eight paths of altered states. From rhythm to utiseta to fasting to ordeal, this book covers the ways that the ancient shamans of the Northlands used these paths to open themselves to the Wights. The fourth book in the Northern-Tradition Shamanism series, this book includes spirit-taught lessons from many different spirit-workers and the Gods that they serve and revere." Northern-Tradition Herbalism: Saturday, July 11 from 1:00-3:00

"The ancient peoples of northern Europe had a working knowledge of herbs that included not only their medicinal uses, but also partnership with the plant spirits. The early-medieval healer of northern Europe was known as the Leike, and their course of study included this style of hands-on, soul-on herbalism, as well as spells and charms for working with the plant spirits and their patron deities. We'll explore this form of medicinal and magical herbalism the way our ancestors did."This workshop is closely associated with Kaldera's herbal series, including the Northern-Tradition Herbal. About Raven Kaldera:

Raven Kaldera is a Northern-Tradition Pagan shaman, herbalist, astrologer, transgendered intersexual activist, homesteader, and founding member of the First Kingdom Church of Asphodel. He put this tradition out for others to see at the behest of his Gods, so that it would never be lost again. He is the author of too many books to list here, including the Northern-Tradition Shamanism series, Drawing Down the Spirits (with Kenaz Filan), Northern Tradition for the Solitary Practitioner (with Galina Krasskova), Pagan Astrology, and Hermaphrodeities: The Transgender Spirituality Workbook. 'Tis an ill wind that blows no minds.
