Cramlington station opened in 1847 and had an extremely plain building which still had a ticket office in 1979.It also had shutters on the windows - evidently British Rail didn't trust the locals! At least it had a good train service and you could bash a Deltic here on the 17.27 from Newcastle.This is the road entrance.
