Icons Identify Different Showing Solutions

While the Schedule a Showing link displays on all listings, the icons to the left of the link may vary. Members use different vendors for showing solutions. Currently, functionality for the following vendors has been integrated through MLS Blue:

This icon indicates the listing agent uses ShowingTime to schedule appointments.
This icon indicates the listing agent uses eShowings to schedule appointments.

As a result, when you click the link, you are taken to one of these vendors' websites in order to schedule a showing.

You have the ability to perform much of your work in TREND: Search for and view listing information; research statistics; or create handouts for presentations with clients. Now, you can use it to initiate showing requests for listings on-line through MLS Blue.

Simply click the Schedule a Showing link on any listing and, in a few clicks, you can submit an appointment request. Additionally, you can more efficiently handle the requests that you receive.

These tools are designed to enhance – not replace – the process that you currently use. Our goal is to reduce the number of phone calls needed to set appointments.

To set an appointment, go to any member report for a listing you want to show and look for the Schedule a Showing link. In a few clicks, you can:
  • See a calendar with the times and dates of all available appointments.
  • Submit an appointment request.
  • Choose how you would like to receive a confirmation – by e-mail, text message or phone call. You decide!
  • View showing instructions for the listing.

Sending Text Messages via Email

If you'd like to send an email to your client's cell phone, it's usually a pretty simple task. Just place the phone number in front of the @ symbol and their domain. It looks like: 5555555555@celldomain.com. Here are the most popular services text message destination addresses:

Give it a try to your own phone. A good use for this would be short text messages from your office when certain things are done that require no reply. An example would be a short message saying "Jones contract delivered to title company."

8 Easy Ways to Save Time on Your Computer

  • I hate scrolling to the top or bottom of pages to find the navigation links that I need…so I use the END and HOME keys on my keyboard instead.
  • F5 will refresh your screen or browser window.
  • F6 will put your cursor in the address bar in IE or Firefox.
  • Do you use your right click on your mouse for Copy, Cut and Paste functions?  Sometimes it’s easier and faster to use CTRL + C (copy), CTRL + X (cut) and CTRL + V (paste) instead!  (and when working in certain canned real estate sites you run into trouble with pop up blockers, etc…and when your right click won’t work, the CTRL + short cuts usually will!
  • Instead of highlighting text and going to the edit menus to make it BOLD or ITALICS, simply use CTRL + B (bold) or CTRL + I (Italic).
  • ALT + TAB to switch between open programs.
  • ALT + F4 closes an open window.
  • And my FAVORITE that I use all the time…because I always seem to mess something up…is the UNDO shortcut…CTRL + Z (Z - as in your last resort!  LOL).

    1. Blogs - Insert Images (Enhancement)
      The recently released blog tool now supports images either imported via the Image Library or copied and pasted in from outside sources.
    2. Search Engine Optimization - Googley Analytics Support (New tool)
      The SEO Manager has been upgraded, allowing agents to input Google Analytics tracking code (provided by Google) to account webpages.
    3. Search Engine Optimization - Googley Webmaster Tools Support (Enhancement)
      Previously available only in Beta, we now fully support the insertion of Google Webmaster Verification (provided by Google) code to account webpages.
    4. Contact List Export (Enhancement)
      The Contact List Export function has been expanded to include all relevant columns currently storing client information.
    5. Client Login Tracking (Enhancement)
      The Web Activity screen for a client now categorizes client logins by source. Logins will display as either "Login, Notice email", "Login, Welcome Back" or "Login, Manual Sign-In".
    6. Agent Saved Searches (Enhancement)
      The Agent Saved Searches tool has been enhanced with improved functionality. When the agent changes criteria, it is no longer necessary to click the "Search" button prior to clicking the "save search" button. All current criteria will be saved when the "save search" button is clicked.
    7. Intranet Login Notices (New tool)
      When agents log in to the intranet, they will be presented with a new page containing relevant notices that have been entered. An archive of past notices can also be found within the Help section.
    8. Lead Assignment Opt Out (New tool)
      Agents may request that they be "opted out" of general lead assignment (by an adminstrator). If opted out, the account would only receive leads generated via their own site OR their own listings.  Agent Lead Opt Out will have varying implications depending on the current lead setup of your company.
    9. Foreclosure Searches - Logging
      Within the Web Activity screen for a client, foreclosure searches are now recorded.
    10. Foreclosure Search Object - Interior Navigation Pages
      An object linking to the Foreclosure Search is now available for agents to add to their main Navigation pages (via the Page Objects tool).
    11. Foreclosure Search Object - Profile and Search Homepage Layout
      The Profile and Search homepage layout has been enhanced to now feature a Foreclosure Search image object that links to the foreclosure search. Note that agents can toggle the Foreclosure homepage object and foreclosure tab to OFF using a seperate tool on the site design tab.

    Resizing Photos the Easy Way!

    Uploading your photos to the web can be a time consuming task, especially if your photos are very large.  A quick and easy fix is the Microsoft Image Resizer!
     
    1. Go to the Microsoft Power Toy website at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx.
    2. Scroll down to the bottom and find the file link for the ImageResizer in the blue column on the right side of the screen.
    3. Run the installation.

     

    Once the installation is complete resizing your photos is easy!
     
    1. Go to the folder where your photo is located.
    2. Right click on your photo.
    3. Choose "Resize Pictures" from the popup menu.
    4. Use the default size setting or choose your size and click on "Okay".
    5. A copy of your photo will appear in the same folder.  It will have the same file name as the original plus "(small)".  This is the copy that is ready for uploading to the web!

     

    Resize multiple photos at once!
     
    1. Open the folder that your photos are located in.  They must all be in the same folder.
    2. Click on the first photo.  Hold the control key as you click on each photo you want to resize.
    3. Right click on any one of the photos and choose "Resize Pictures" from the popup menu.  All your photos will be resized at once!

    Tech Tip - LeadStreet Enhancement: Customized Property Search Links

    Create customized property searches on LeadStreet and create a link that goes directly that search.  You can put this link on your website, in your marketing materials, or advertise it on the web!
     
    1. Log into your LeadStreet account and go to the "Site Builder" button at the top of the page. 
    2. On the Site Builder page, the "My Searches" tab is located to the far right, next to the "Reports" tab.
    3. On the My Searches page you just have to scroll down to the map to begin building your search.
     
    There are plenty of options for designing your search.  If you need more than the standard city/zip, minimum and maximum price ranges, and number of beds and baths, there's always the advanced option, located to the far right at the top of the map, with a myriad of detailed criteria to choose from.
