Flower Day Most Popular: Vitex
Flower Day Most Popular: Vitex
The purple tree in the back (center), is a Vitex, also known as Chastetree. There are two on the property, and along with Hydrangea Teller's Blue, Lily Silk Road, and whatever wacky Amaranthus Stephanie is featuring this year, it ranks high on the list of items that are most asked about or commented upon during Flower Day. Along the right is the line of Thuja Green Giants planted for a catalog photo a few years back. They grow very quickly, as you can see.

These were labeled Rudbeckia fulgida 'Goldsturm' at a grocery store chain. When I brought this plant home I found the leaves were so different from my catalogue purchase also supposedly Rudbeckia fulgida 'Goldsturm'. So I was wondering which was the Goldstrum and it turns out this one is.
