An AfriCHI workshop (between 21-25 November 2016)

Welcome! We're excited to be organizing a 2-day design workshop on harnessing the power of digital maps for Africa at this year's AfriCHI. Please check out the Call For Participation to get details about how to participate, the Hosts page for information about the organizers

The goals of this workshop are to:
  1. Brainstorm concrete ideas about how digital maps can better support users in Africa;
  2. Build a local community of researchers and designers working within the domain of digital mapping;
  3. Provide attendees with experience using the design thinking framework to creatively solve design problems.

The workshop is targeted at academics and practitioners alike. Participants are not required to have a background related to digital mapping, however we will select participants based on the diversity and creativity of the ideas presented in their position paper.

Deadline for submissions is 28th July 2016. At least one author of each accepted paper needs to register for the conference and the workshop.
