CURT STAGER, PI: PALEOCLIMATE RESEARCH IN AFRICA

 
Investigating the ecological and climatic history of Africa, with emphasis on the last 2,000 years, as revealed in high-resolution microfossil records obtained from lake sediment cores.   Supported by the National Science Foundation since 1980, and involving undergraduate students from Paul Smith's College since June, 2000.

    This website summarizes much of the work that my students, colleagues, and I have been involved with over the years, including our latest investigations in South Africa.  Various pages include basic descriptions of our primary findings along with downloadable copies of papers and grant proposals describing the studies in more detail.
