Autism in Africa

Mental problems is tabu all over Africa, but there is no reason why the statistics should not keep up with the percentage of people suffering form Schizophrenia, Bipolar diseases or Autism in the rest of the world. For instance it is estimated that one out of every 100 suffers from Schizophrenia.  How does parents who have hardly ever been to school know what it means when their child shows an odd behaviour, and is not able to adequately play with other school mates.

This video shows how a center for Autistic children is able to help families in Egypt who seek help and who are able to pay for the special needs workers at the support center. It clearly indicates that there is a huge need among the population, It is estimated that one in 250 children is influenced, and only a fraction ever find there way to treatment.
