When i first glanced at them I thought they were tamales with to much color in the filling or maybe raspberry blintzes but when they turned out to be toes, reminded me of one a business in one of the struggling strip malls in Sugarhouse: Nails, pedicures, hot wax. It's next to a large area that has been vacant since Hollywood Video closed. About half the stores across the street are empty. That Circuit City is being replaced by a Deseret Industries. The Avon offices up the street are gone and that antique mansion has had office equipment and house plants in it for months I guess to make people think the financial company is still there. That beautiful Granite Mills building has pots of petunias outside a furnished entry to make it look like the place is still occupied. I always notice the Russia Massage in the office next door to Ken Russell's Dental office. Where did I see a massage parlor today? I guess I'll have to go review these. I always notice the tanning parlor in the old grocery store on 21st e. and 13th s., right across from the woman's spa. There are 5 fitness centers in Sugarhouse. Right below this ad is one for a bakery called "Nothing Bundt Cakes" out in Sandy. They're motto is, "So yummy, you'll wish it didn't have a hole!" I better not say anything about Yearning for Zion and the age of consent in Texas. Bill Wheaton---I think he's now the head of the Catholic school system in Salt Lake County and Utah---from whom I took a class in elementary education had a good lecture on totalitarianism in which he pointed out the similarity of political totalitarianism and cultural in a way you could understand Biblical terms like the principalities and powers of the air which recently has come to remind me of breath advancing upward like a silk worm from the incubator into the pasturage. I don't know Marxist terms like "decadent" or "running dog" would have any relevance at all but sometimes I think they might.
WILKESBORO NC: WILKES HERITAGE MUSEUM: Not only is this 'Spitter-Outer' an antique, I remember going to dentists who had this equipment. I guess that makes me an antique? 1039
