Day 215 of 365 - That, Does Not Look Good...
Day 215 of 365 - That, Does Not Look Good...
I didn't necessarily want to make this my photo of the day... in fact, when I got home last night I started on another one that I planned on posting. However, it's not a terrible picture, and more importantly, it's pretty significant (and sometimes that's what 365 projects are all about). A few years back I bought the car you see here... it's my dream car, and I swore I'd drive it until it couldn't be driven anymore. Little did I know that I would accomplish that in about 5 years (I was hoping it would be more like 20). So, as corny as it sounds, I'm a little devastated by my dream car having a damaged engine. But then again, it's my own fault for not taking better care of it. So, my friend Steve (seen here taking a nap under the front end) said he'd be able to get a new engine put in and have it purring like a kitten (actually, he didn't say that "kitten" comment... I just thought it would make good reading). Anyway... I just wanted to document my baby being under the proverbial knife. I pray the good Lord guide the hands of my talented surgeon (Steve), and that my baby has a speedy recovery.
SU Carb & Float Chamber
SU Carb & Float Chamber
Marjorie the Mini has been misbehaving recently. A misfire on right hand bends and ultimately cutting out lead to a diagnosis of fuel starvation. Examination of the carb float chamber revealed 47 years of accumulated muck, hopefully cleaning this out will have solved the problem. The top of the float chamber is visible here after removal of the air cleaner and fuel pipe. July 2010.
