Blinds And Drapes

blinds and drapes
    blinds
  • Confuse or overawe someone with something difficult to understand
  • The blinds are forced bets posted by players to the left of the dealer button in flop-style poker games. The number of blinds is usually two, but can be one or three.
  • Cause (someone) to be unable to see, permanently or temporarily
  • window coverings, especially vertical blinds, wood blinds, roller blinds, pleated blinds
  • A window blind is a type of window covering which is made with slats of fabric, wood, plastic or metal that adjust by rotating from an open position to a closed position by allowing slats to overlap. A roller blind does not have slats but comprises a single piece of material.
  • Deprive (someone) of understanding, judgment, or perception
    drapes
  • (drape) arrange in a particular way; "drape a cloth"
  • (drape) the manner in which fabric hangs or falls; "she adjusted the drape of her skirt"
  • Arrange (cloth or clothing) loosely or casually on or around something
  • Let (oneself or a part of one's body) rest somewhere in a casual or relaxed way
  • Adorn, cover, or wrap (someone or something) loosely with folds of cloth

The 2011 World Forecasts of Textile Curtains, Drapes, Interior Blinds, Roller Shades, and Bed Valences Export Supplies
The 2011 World Forecasts of Textile Curtains, Drapes, Interior Blinds, Roller Shades, and Bed Valences Export Supplies
This report was created for strategic planners, international marketing executives and export managers whose primary concern is the world market for textile curtains, drapes, interior blinds, roller shades, and bed valences. With the globalization of this market, managers can no longer be contented with a local view. Nor can managers be contented with out-of-date statistics that appear several years after the fact. I have developed a methodology, based on macroeconomic and trade models, to estimate the market for textile curtains, drapes, interior blinds, roller shades, and bed valences for those firms serving the world via exports and foreign direct investment. It does so for the current year based on a variety of key historical indicators and econometric models.

In what follows, this report begins by summarizing the world market for textile curtains, drapes, interior blinds, roller shades, and bed valences exports. The total level of exports on a worldwide basis is based on a model that aggregates across over 150 key country markets and projects these to the current year. From there, each country represents a percent of the world market. This market is served from a number of competitive countries of origin. Based on supply-side dynamics, market shares by country of origin are then calculated across each country market. These shares lead to a volume of export values for each country and are aggregated to regional and world totals. In doing so, we are able to obtain maximum likelihood estimates of both the value of each supplier and the destinations (countries served by the supplier country). From these figures, world rankings are calculated. In this way, all the figures provided in this report are forecasts that can be combined with internal information for strategic planning purposes.

Dining Room Drapes
Dining Room Drapes
We just hung up the drapes this weekend. We picked them up from Pottery Barn using a gift certificate that Michelle received when she graduated from Caltech. (Michelle says "Thanks Jeanene!") The curtain rod was actually a nice find. We had used it in a previous house, but it was unfinished and looked kind of rough. Michelle stained it to match the floor, which looks really good (not that you can see it in this picture).
Dining room blinds
Dining room blinds
The dining room is almost complete. The only thing left is a new chandelier (aparently the one currently hanging there is old and ugly). The blinds are actually way cooler than they look. Not only can you raise the bottom (like with regular blinds), but you can also lower the top. This way, if we want privacy and light, we can set them so that the bottom half of the window is covered while the top half is open to let in light.

The 2011 Import and Export Market for Textile Curtains, Drapes, Interior Blinds, Roller Shades, and Bed Valences in Latin America
On the demand side, exporters and strategic planners approaching the market in Latin America face a number of questions. Which countries are supplying textile curtains, drapes, interior blinds, roller shades, and bed valences to Latin America? What is the dollar value of these imports? How much do the imports of textile curtains, drapes, interior blinds, roller shades, and bed valences vary from one country to another in Latin America? Do exporters serving the market in Latin America have similar market shares across the importing countries? On the supply side, Latin America also sells to the international market of textile curtains, drapes, interior blinds, roller shades, and bed valences. Which countries in Latin America supply the most exports of textile curtains, drapes, interior blinds, roller shades, and bed valences? Which countries are buying their exports? What is the value of these exports and which countries are the largest buyers?

This report was created for strategic planners, international marketing executives and import/export managers who are concerned with the market for textile curtains, drapes, interior blinds, roller shades, and bed valences in Latin America. With the globalization of this market, managers can no longer be contented with a local view. Nor can managers be contented with out-of-date statistics that appear several years after the fact. I have developed a methodology, based on macroeconomic and trade models, to estimate the market for textile curtains, drapes, interior blinds, roller shades, and bed valences for those countries serving Latin America via exports or supplying from Latin America via imports. We do so for the current year based on a variety of key historical indicators and econometric models.

In what follows, Chapter 2 begins by summarizing where Latin America fits into the world market for imported and exported textile curtains, drapes, interior blinds, roller shades, and bed
