Best. Krumkaker. Ever.
Best. Krumkaker. Ever.
Making krumkaker at Christmas is one of my earnest attempts at assimilating in Norway, and every year I am disappointed with the outcome as my krumkaker always turn out a little chewy. But this year I struck pay dirt! Tor Hakon sent me his great-grandmother's recipe which has produced the lightest, crispiest krumkaker I have ever managed. Woo-hoo! The secret? I'm convinced it was the juleklem from his mother that he left pasted into the message :-)

my Aunt Myrt's rosette cookie recipe - a Norwegian thing. it was the only christmas cookie my mom didn't make; aunt myrt always brought them. which made them really a treat. i've wanted to try to make them for years and finally did. even tho' hot oil scares the beegeebers outta' me. (they kind of taste like funnel cakes.)
