The same goes for your dog, which is why we're here to help you measure your dog's foot to ensure a comfortable fitting boot. To measure the width of your dog's foot, place the foot on a piece of paper and press down on the top of the foot, mimicking how the foot spreads when the dog's walking. Mark the left and the right side of the foot on the paper and measure the distance between the marks. Compare this to the boot sizes. The width of the foot should be smaller than the boot size. Sizes: Petite 1 1/4" width; XSmall 1 3/4" width; Small 2 1/4" width; Medium 2 3/4" width; Large 3 1/4" width; XLarge 4" width (Price is for four boots)

Morgan Medical Equipment and Supply
Morgan Medical Equipment and Supply
Fort Morgan, Colorado. Shot in 1994 on Lumiere 100 slide film. The reason for this photograph was purely sentimental when I took it, and remains so today. Back in the early 1920's, this building housed a cafe. My grandmother, Emma Kruger, worked here as a waitress and sometimes cashier. She and her family had moved to Colorado from Oregon shortly after the death of her father; her mother's family, the Brettings, were living in this area. While she was working there, she met my grandfather, Herndon E. Harris. Ten years her senior, he was born to a historically long-established family from Columbia, Missouri, but had grown up in southern Kansas. Prior to WWI, he worked for various oil companies as a clerk, but after WWI, he'd become a drifter. In 1920 he's found living in a boarding house in Tulsa, Oklahoma. By 1922 or '23 he was working in this same cafe as a cook and dishwasher. My grandparents married in Denver in 1924. They eventually moved to the southwestern part of Oklahoma by 1928, where most of their kids, including my dad, was born and raised. They remained married until Grandpa died in 1970. Grandma passed away in 1993.

Durable Goods: A Novel (Ballantine Reader's Circle)
On the hot Texas army base she calls home, Katie spends the lazy days of her summer waiting: waiting to grow up; waiting for Dickie Mack to fall in love with her; waiting for her breasts to blossom; waiting for the beatings to stop. Since their mother died, Katie and her older sister, Diane, have struggled to understand their increasingly distant, often violent father. While Diane escapes into the arms of her boyfriend, Katie hides in her room or escapes to her best friend’s house—until Katie’s admiration for her strong-willed sister leads her on an adventure that transforms her life.

Written with an unerring ability to capture the sadness of growth, the pain of change, the nearly visible vibrations that connect people, this beautiful novel by the bestselling author of Open House reminds us how wonderful—and wounding—a deeper understanding of life can be.
