Nash Motors. Founded in 1916 by former GM president, Charles W. Nash who aquired the Thomas B. Jeffery Co. who had been making automobiles in Kenosha, Wisconsin since 1902. The first car to carry the Nash name was the Model 671 in 1917. Charles Nash remained at the helm until late 1937 and named George Mason the head of the Kelvinator Corporation as his successor. Mason took over on the condition that the Nash company acquire controlling interest in Kelvinator. then the leading manufacturer of refrigerators and kitchen appliances, The restructured company became known as Nash-Kelvinator in 1938 with Nash responsible for the automotive side of the business. The company continued in this guise until 1954 when Nash announced the acquisition of Hudson as a friendly merger, thus creating the American Motor Corporation (AMC) with all production coming from Nash's Kenosha plant.. In 1957 new CEO of AMC George Romney took the decision to drop the Nash and Hudson marques replacing them with the Rambler brand.. A.R.T. = ART A. Art can be about anything. For a picture of anything, I picked the yellow mechanical refrigerator milk car EV 6021, shown in Kingston. R. One subject for art is a railroad. To illustrate the railroad, I used a photo of a "hidden" staging yard representing both Allentown and Binghamton. T. Another subject for art is a train. Conrail CR 2002, a B23-7 leads a westward train over Bill's bridge. ART: At home, actual art of a railroad train. The height and width might not be proportional. I wanted to have the individual photos smaller than the last one, but I was late, and only had a chance to do so much to try to make it look the way I wanted it to.
