Our Pastor

Ara Heghinian

Pastor Ara joined the Armenian Evangelical Church of Cranston Rhode Island in October 2012.  He is also a Certified Pastoral Counselor with the New England Pastoral Institute in Salem, NH and holds membership in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.  Pastor Ara served as pastor to the Ararat Armenian Congregational Church of Salem, New Hampshire, from 2001 to 2011 and the Armenian Presbyterian Church in Paramus, New Jersey from 1993 to 2001.

His educational background includes a Doctor of Ministry degree from Andover Newton Theological School (2008), a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary (1993) and a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Babson College (1990).

He has served as Vice-Moderator, Ministry Committee Chairperson, and Committee on Youth Chairperson of the Armenian Evangelical Union of North America.

Pastor Ara has been married to Kimberly Rose (Zartarian) since 1993.  God’s greatest gift to them has been two sons, Alex, and Gregory.
