Shrimp Linguine

40 small shrimp
1/3 of a 16 oz package of linguine
1/4 c. butter
4 T. diced onion
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 T. flour
1 c. half and half
2 t. pepper
6 T. freshly grated Parmesan cheese {plus more for topping}

Cook pasta according to directions. Meanwhile saute onions and garlic in butter in a large skillet. Add shrimp and saute one minute. Tip the pan so the butter falls to one side and move shrimp aside. Stir the flour into the butter and let cook one minute. Add half and half and pepper. Stir constantly until thickened. Add Parmesan cheese and drained pasta. Serve topped with additional Parmesan cheese.
