I love zombies and I love being a zombie. I’m pretty decent at doing zombie make up, but I needed a twist. JUST being a zombie wasn’t good enough, so I decided to go as the President of NY Mets fan club. who had committed suicide. I won 1st runner up in the Asbury park Halloween Parade and I got lots of smiles and laughs and thumbs up from people around me, so I decided to show you how I did it. It’s mostly about how I did the zombification, but I’ll also show you hope to make a noose that will stand up so you don’t have to hold it. First, a list of what you need. ABSOLUTELY NEEDED FOR ZOMBIFICATION Liquid latex (available online or in halloween stores) black, white, blue and red make up (preferably the kind that washes off with soap and water and that won’t stain anything. You may want additional colors such as brown or green or yellow) Q-tips (for applying makeup and liquid latex) liquid blood (or substitute which I’ll explain how to make) paper/plastic cup or bowl (for mixing makeup) tweezers (for pulling the liquid latex apart to make better wounds) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Rubber gloves (so you avoid getting your hands sticky and covered in makeup) Toilet paper (helps to added texture to wounds and scars) Stipple brush (almost a sponge it’s highly effective at applying makeup when it needs to be done blotchy) white sponges (for applying makeup, there’s really no substitute) paper towels (for use with the sponges and stipple) cotton balls (great for texture) glycerin (available online and some halloween stores. gives wounds a wet look) spirit gum (for affixing prosthetics) liquid scar (available mostly online or in really good halloween stores. makes awesome scars) twine (for making veins) FOR THE METS COSTUME AND NOOSE a mets jersey (one you can afford to get ucked up) a mets hat (same as above) dirty pants (same as above. Pants must have belt loops) 10-12 feet of thick rope zip ties scissors (for snipping the ends of the zip ties) wire coat hanger (for supporting the noose above your head) Before you begin, decide what you want to be. If you just want to be dead then you don’t really need the effects part of this. Skip to the section on makeup. If you want to be undead but not gross, you’ll probably want to just use liquid latex for subtle dead looking effects. If you want to be a full blown bloody zombie, then you’ll want to pay attention to all the steps.
Step One: apply liquid latex
Step One: apply liquid latex
Before you start make sure your face is clean and dry. If you’re a guy you may wonder: should I shave? The answer is it’s up to you. If you don’t, the stubble adds to the appearance greatly, but you must be more diligent in how you apply the makeup to avoid it looking really fake and liquid latex in hair can be a pain in the ass to remove afterwards. I didn’t shave and had no issues with the latex and my stubble. I would be very careful if you have an actual beard as opposed to stubble. Using a q-tip or a gloved finger, apply liquid latex in various spots on your face. You want several areas, all around 1-2 inches square. Apply it in in a thin, even coat. if you glob it up it will dry as a white blob. This will then need to be dealt with with makeup. I will say this repeatedly: Less Is More. DO NOT get liquid latex in your eyebrows. it is a bitch to remove. Also try not to get it near your hairline for the same reason.
