Dance at the Pitman Wedding 2
Dance at the Pitman Wedding 2
Bride's daughter and groom's father dancing. I have several cute pictures of her - she had a great smile! After the bride and groom cut the cake, my fiancee Rachel (who made the cake!) helped distribute it to all the wedding guests. I need to try taking more of these types of shots, focusing on some element rather than giving into the temptation to capture everything with my wide angle! Last weekend I went to my fiancee' s cousin's wedding, Lee and Rachel Pitman, in Branson, MO. Brought along my camera for some practice shooting and to supplement their photographer's work; I took a fair few I was happy with but shooting outdoors in the evening is challenging, to say the least! As it turns out, most of the ones I thought worthy of uploading were dance shots. At least, those are most likely to be interesting to other people! As always, constructive criticism is more than welcome. I have an awful lot to learn about these types of photos. I dragged the shutter to try and capture more ambient light, although having a second, fixed wireless flash for backlight/fill would have been fantastic. Sigma 10-20, SB-600.
Cable Car Motion
Cable Car Motion
The turntable at Powell and Market in San Francisco. I still can't believe how perfectly this shot matched what I was going for. Not shown: me bracing my camera on the top of an 8-foot flower stand/booth, holding the strap (which was hanging down off the edge) and shooting it with a wireless remote. I looked crazy standing there holding the strap waiting for the long exposure to finish, but I think it was worth it.
